Recently the researchers of domestic and international in industry-university cooperation are getting more interests in R&D for medical devices, and the government is strongly invest into R&D fields that is able to secure its market.

In order to solve social issues like the entry to an aging society and the rapid increase of medical expenses and also to satisfy the change of medical service paradigm from disease diagnosis and treatment to its prevention and management, the creation of new blue ocean should be necessary through the combinations of BT, NT, and HT.

Our research institute is studying advanced technologies such as U-Health that is able to manage the health anytime and anywhere, the technology of field diagnosis to diagnose diseases directly at sites, and Smart Life Care that could sustain healthy life by managing daily life. Furthermore, we would like to promote intensively medical devices for surgery, minimally invasive surgery, and aging friendly health care.

Our institute is willing to highly contribute toward activating R&D and improving domestic devices through the cooperation of industry, universities, and institutes.
